I was trained with many sleep training methods from very gentle to cry it out. However cry it out was never my cup of tea, so I have to be honest and say that I’ve never worked with it. I prefer to work with gentle sleep training methods, as that is where all of my experience and expertise is.

In many situations crying is actually healthy and necessary for both children and adults, as it helps us release big feelings and crying is actually your child’s way of protesting change. So yes, you should expect that making changes to their sleep will result in some protest. The first few nights usually have the most protesting, however after a few days of consistently following the personalized sleep plan, most parents see improvements as their child begins to settle into their new sleeping arrangements.

As a mother of 2 I have had very different postpartum experiences, one where I had PPA & PPD and one where I did not. My experience with PPA & PPD was exasperated by my sleep deprivation, it wasn’t until my son started sleeping that I was able to sleep and get myself out of the PPA & PPD haze. I am confident that getting the sleep you and your family needs and deserves will also help with some or all of your parental mood disorders. By taking a more gentle and gradual approach to sleep training, I am able to build up your confidence as a parent, remove most of your anxieties and create the sleep changes you need.

If you are currently bed-sharing and would like for your child to sleep in his or her own space, I can help you with this transition. If you are a bed-sharing family, that is not sure if you are ready to transition your child out of your bed, I recommend booking a complimentary call with me, so we can talk and decide if this is the right time to work together. If after our call you decide that you want to continue bed-sharing and improve sleep, we can set up a plan on how we will work together.

I do not recommend sleep training if you will be traveling or have life changing events happening (moving, new sibling, divorce, etc.) during the 3 weeks we work together.

Ideally you want to pick a time to work together, when you can be home and be as consistent as possible.
